Track Plan - Middle Level - La Junta to Pueblo

First you will want to save the photo and then open it in Microsoft Office Picture Manager and you will be able to zoom in and it will focus. You can try other photo viewer programs and let me know if it will focus when you zoom in.

Track Plan Legend

So tonight I am posting the Middle Level run which is the La Junta to Pueblo, CO. I haven’t added all of the details but this will give you an idea of what I am working on. La Junta for the most part, is complete. I haven’t completed an legend for what each color of track is yet but I will add one on the next post.

So for right now here is a temporary legend:

Dk. Blue – ATSF main line
Lt. Blue – ATSF siding...
Orange – DRGW main line
Lt. Orange – DRGW siding
Olive – Yard lead & Drill track
Dk. Red – Yard AD track
Purple – Classification track
Yellow – locomotive servicing track
Gray – Industrial spur

Layout Design Update

First I will update all of you on the layout design. I am modeling from Denver, CO to Albuquerque, NM (ABQ) in 1990 to 1996. In the center of this North-South run is La Junta, CO which will be the main classification yard. I am designing the layout so it will have a La Junta to Denver run (1/2 of the basement) and a La Junta to ABQ run. This is a double deck design with staging and a couple of short lines on the lower level.
The plan is to first build the Denver to La J...unta part of the line and then the La Junta to ABQ part. This way I will have a functioning layout and will have the opportunity to expand in the future.
So there is an Upper, Middle & Lower level to this design. I haven’t picked the heights of each level yet but I do have some numbers in mind. La Junta is on the Middle level, Denver is on the upper level.
Please make suggested changes, concerns, likes and so on. I very much welcome any help on the design of this.

House Basement Layout

Well I have the final dimensions of our new basement.  It is approximately 100' x 30'.  We have moved up our build timeline and we plan to break ground on March 2017.  I will be using AnyRail software for my layout design and I have the basement layout in the files.  Please feel free to make suggestions while I am working on the layout plan.  I am hoping to plan a great layout that people will love to operate.

First Post

I have decided to try a blog vs. a web site for the MI Santa Fe layout.  This will be an HO scale layout that I hopefully will be starting in approximately 6 years.  My wife and I have just purchased 3 acres of property and are working on finding the "perfect" house plan.  The current plan will have a basement that is about 100' long and 30' wide (this includes the basement under the 3 car garage.  We plan to start building our house in the spring of 2019.  In the mean time, I will be working on the layout design plan using AnyRail.  I will be posting updates and such over the next few years along with the details of the Santa Fe line that I plan to model.
